Dr. Lau’s role as Regional Director (Research and Consultancy) for Market Probe entails providing clients with strategic advice and research recommendations that generate brand- building consumer and market insights. He also provides consultancy advice to help clients develop action plans that strengthen customer-brand relationships.
His consultancy experience spans numerous private and public sector industries, including Financial, Consumer Goods, and Service industries. Prior to joining Market Probe, Dr. Lau spent 3 years in Temporal Brand Consulting working with large organizations such as Standard Chartered Bank, Changi Airport, Marina Bay Sands, NTUC FairPrice, IE Singapore and Singapore Technologies.
Before his consultancy career, he worked in such diverse industries as Beverage, Retail and IT. Including a stint as a business analyst with Metro, where he was heavily involved in customer loyalty development and performance tracking in Singapore’s dynamic and competitive retail industry.
Specializing in areas concerning brand personality, research methodology, consumer behavior and brand extension strategies, Dr. Lau is a frequent seminar speaker, adjunct college lecturer and active reviewer for academic journals and associations.
In addition to a lengthy list of published papers, he has a Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, an MBA with Distinction from the University of Surrey and a Ph.D. degree in Marketing from the Curtin University of Technology.
